Resolved Question: is my first few pages for my novel good or not? I appreciate any comments, negative or positive.?

It was already autumn and the enthralling trees that stood up tall and golden now began to shed to reveal the shiny bronze coat underneath. It was odd, those trees. They seemed to be wearing different coats depending on the seasons. The branches swayed back and forth to the rhythm of the winds that traveled from the eastern mountains. The trees wore gold during spring and summer, bronze during autumn, and silver during winter. Each season would start only when these majestic trees revealed the next color. When a hint of bronze or silver was found, you would be certain the season had changed. The branches stretched long and thin and the leaves, being huge and tear-shaped, would sway with the wind until they silently fell to the ground. No one noticed these little things. No one cared because it was a yearly routine such as the marsberry bell flowers that rang during the summer. Those golden leaves would fall and receive crushed by the careless of feet. This was when the fun began. The leaves would cringle like paper since they were flat enough to write on, and thin enough to tear. These leaves would turn to sand. Golden sand. Silver sand. Bronze sand. This sand was every that mattered and every that seemed mesmerizing in the land. every year long the sand would change until there was a mixture. The wind would blow that mixture along the sky, caring it up to the heavens. It was a beautiful land every on its possess. The grass rose up tall and high where it was permitted and was clip short enough in some areas to be used as a carpet. It was green everywhere the eyes could look, except for the path that stretched out far across the terrestrial environment. The hills made the place feel every the more magical. And that is because it was. And is. It was almost always sunny with a tiny breeze. Then, in the winter, the white silvery snow would arrive falling with a soft splat, forming a thin clear, slippery floor to walk upon. every the seasons were wonderful and different in a unique way. The sky had its possess part in the season changes. During the spring the heavens would change to a bright yellow, providing warmth to the creatures mom nature created. When the season changed to summer, the sky changed its color to a mysterious light green, providing birth. The sky would change to a mystifying purple, providing reassurance. Lastly, the sky would change its color to a deep blue, providing comfort. It was what mom nature had intended. Nature responded at the exact time. If the trees began to shed to reveal its bronze color, one could be sure that the color over them had changed to a purple. This was the way of life in the land. In one of the most wonderful places in the land, stretched along the mixture of colors of the hills that overlooked the sea, stood a magnificent palace. Being a beige color, the palace seemed a glowing star from far away, and in a sense it was, being the home of the land. A long grey-bricked bridge connected the main land to a tiny, but magnificent island. Brick after brick was stacked up to create the fortress. Once one crossed the enormous bridge decorated with white rock statues of heroic individuals holding long blades or bows, one would walk into a courtyard before standing in front of the humongous brown door that was decorated with the history of the land. It was said that the door had magic in itself, since it was made with the wood from the tree of Saecula. Each year a different carving would form, sometimes even before its time. However, only a handful was able to interpret such carvings. Baskets of flowers hung along the ceiling of the walk-around balconies and fountains sprang up in the corners. Vines stretched out their long stems to wrap around the long engraved columns that supported the terraces. One could stare for hours at the fountains, observing the different colors that sprang from it. The courtyard in back of the palace was odd. This was called the Garden of Enchantment. Walls stretched out high in order to border the odd force that was inside. The walls were not ordinary. They moved. They slithered. They thought. Dark green vines moved with such strangeness that it seemed to have a mind of its possess, as if it were an animal. These were the Vines of Fatum, a mysterious plant that could not receive rid of in any way. Try burning it and sparks would form as if having the flames reflected. Try cutting it with a diamond ditcher dragger, the sharp blade would crack. The courtyard was seemingly vacant for its mysterious atmosphere. In order to receive inside, one would walk straight into the wall, having one’s body fall onto the other side. Not many have experienced the wonders beyond the wall. These vines showed one’s destiny.

Resolved Question: Is It a good start for a novel?

I already asked this question but Im looking for more feeedback to improve as a writer. Thanks in advance. Yellow and brownish leaves were falling down along the road as Nathan Warbuton was coming home from his college which was about thirty minutes walk from his home or just ten minutes if he could manage to catch a bus. However, despite being from one of London’s richest families and holding his driving license for a year now, he would rarely receive on the bus. He was neither stingy nor he hated technology. There was just something about nature that fascinated him, a secret within nature’s nature that would have him meditate for hours. Nathan was in fact such a big thinker that at certain times he would even think about his possess way of thinking or at other times think about his way of thinking of his way of thinking. every these thoughts collapsing in head at the same time would most of the time make him giddy, but unfortunately for him that wouldn’t prevent him from keeping on thinking; He just could not help it. Just as a bird wouldn’t refuse some bread to feed himself, Nathan Warbuton would never refuse a thought to feed his soul. Nathan lived in Westminster, a tiny borough located in central London known for the very wealthy people it housed. It may have been one the world’s richest area yet he was quite bored living around there, he never fancied living in Alice’s wonderland, little red riding hood’s woods or Cinderella’s castle but the entire neighbourhood itself was a redundant circus. There were fountains everywhere in which water was coming out of old Greek’s golden statues which were surrounded by artificial grass which was itself surrounded by countless shops and boutiques of every sorts. This wasn’t a bad scenery when one looked at it but he often asked himself: how was this any different from the richest streets of Paris, Madrid or even Milan, there might have been few variations but every their activities every revolved around the same things: earning money, spending money, lending money and so on. And that was what he hated more than anything in this world: lack of creativity. Sometimes some people’s lack of creativity would leave him in disgust or in wish, a wish for a much more creative world where he would be whoever he wants to be and change things the way he wants it to be. However, every time he would step across his garden the huge dark-Victorian style door of his home reminded him of the world he belonged to.“Why are you so tardy tonight?”-asked Dr.Keith reaching for a beer on the table. “I don’t know? I nice of got lost on my way” replied Nathan. “You got lost? After eighteen years of living in this area? You got lost?” sarcastically interrupted his mom. “Darling, do not neglect the probabilities of getting lost on a way to an institution of higher learning thirty minutes and twenty-five seconds away from home which are about zero point five per cent. Even though these are tiny probabilities, these are still probabilities” exclaimed Dr.Keith.”I do not neglect those! I just rather put my money on ninety-nine point five per cent than on zero point five, it just happen to sound more reasonable to me. Besides, considering the fact that our Nathan is a honest gentleman I just think---.” ”Have you guys finished playing around!” intervened a quite annoyed Nathan.”

Resolved Question: What is a better party idea for my 18th birthday out of these two..?

Ok - so turning 18 in July and want to have a party in my back garden. I've got 2 ideas, I am either going to have cow boys and indians, where everyone has to arrive dressed up as a cow boy or indian and then i'll hire out a rodeo bull for fun that matches the theme. or i'll have a caribbean night, where you have to arrive in caribbean or hawain type stuff like hula skirts, and then hire our a surf board simulator and receive some blow up palm trees and maybe even do some limbo! so which one sounds better? cause i think theres more ideas for the caribbean night, but then i think a rodeo bull may be better than a surf thing? has anyone tried both and knows whats more fun? also whatever one i pick i'll also have a little marquee with some speakers for a dancing area and then a vodka punch fountain :D one more question! most people in my school invite like 200 people every 18ish, but i was thinking i want it more special, so family, then friends of the family, and lastly a few of my closest school mates and other mates - do you think that will be a good mix or a fail? :D

Resolved Question: This is what God has in store for us believers in heaven? Your thought and opinions.?

"The description of Paradise which the Muttaqoon have been promised is that in it are rivers of water, the taste and odor of which are never changed. Rivers of milk the taste of which will remain unchanged. Rivers of wine that will be delicious to those who drink from it and rivers of clear, pure honey. For them will be every nice of fruit and forgiveness form their Lord." [47:15] "And their recompense shall be Paradise, and silken garments, because they were patient. Reclining on raised thrones, they will look there neither the excessive heat of the sun, nor the excessive bitter icy, (as in Paradise there is no sun and no moon). The shade will be close upon them, and bunches of fruit will hang low within their reach. Vessels of silver and cups of crystal will be passed around amongst them, crystal-clear, made of silver. They will determine the measure of them according to their wishes. They will be given a cup (of wine) mixed with Zanjabeel, and a fountain called Salsabeel. Around them will (serve) boys of perpetual youth. If you look them, you would think they are scattered pearls. When you look there (in Paradise) you will look a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a Great Dominion. Their garments will be of fine green silk and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink." [76:12-21] "And those foremost (In Tawheed and obedience to Allah and His Messenger in this life) will be foremost (in Paradise). They will be those nearest to Allah in the Gardens of Delight. A multitude of those (the foremost) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam) and a few of those (the foremost) will be from the later (generations). They will be reclining, face to face, on thrones woven with gold and precious stones. They will be served by immortal boys, with cups and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, from which they will have neither any headache, nor any intoxication. They will have fruit from which they may pick, and the flesh of fowls that they desire. There will be Houris with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), like preserved pearls, a reward for deeds that they used to do. They will hear no vain or sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.) but only the saying of: Salam, Salam, (greetings of peace). And those on the Right Hand, who will be those on the Right Hand? They will be among thorn-less lote-trees among Talh (banana trees) with fruits piled one over another, in long-extended shade, by constantly flowing water, and fruit in plenty, whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be clip off. They will be on couches or thrones raised high. Verily, We have created for them (maidens) of equal age, loving (their husbands only). For those on the Right Hand." [56:10-38] "Verily, the dwellers of Paradise that Day, will be busy in joyful things. They and their wives will be in pleasant shade, reclining on thrones. They will have therein fruits (of every kinds), and every that they will ask for. (It will be said to them): "Salamun" (Peace be on you), a Word from the Lord, Most Merciful." [36:55-58]

Resolved Question: How would this story idea sound?

Its a End Times story, well sort of. It begins with a secret league called the Priory of Zion, an organization of religious mystics and scientists; Pastor Uriah Jones-leader, he wants to look the world because of his adore of death. Anita Coltrane-Catholic diviner, anti-feminist and second-in-command. Egbert Campbell-Chaplain, numerologist and 80 year-old man with a stroke. Yonah Hassid-Jewish Ultra-Zionist who persists the search of the Jewish Messiah. Fadi Obeid-Islamic eschatologist and computer geek in search of Imam Mahdi. Ray Kirkpatrick-Evangelical wingnut, debater, misogynist and doctor. Cathy Norman-weapons supplier, femme fatale, Goddess-worshiper and misandrist. Libby Dawson-atheist, cosmologist, biotechnician and semi-misanthropist. Rodney Kay-agnostic, environmentalist, animal-lover, and misanthropist. This league plans to create a utopia for themselves (each have their possess agenda) and creating a human being from cloning and genetic engineering to become a perfect, handsome, godlike leader. What they don't realize that the new generation, from infancy to 21 years-old, are seeing flying horses, fiery birds, fairies, mermaids, and hearing a beautiful and strong music played by a man dressed in multicolored clothing. He leads millions of kids, thousands of teenagers, and tens of 21 year-olds, into a place full of ivy, fruit trees, heather, roses, rivers, valleys, stonehenges, gardens, castles, fountains, statues of historical/mythical heroes and heroines. I thought of making a combination of the End Times and the Pied Piper of Hamelin story, where the people who are 'raptured' are the kids and some young adults who have never stopped seeing the magic and wonder in the world.

Voting Question: Is this a good poem to include in an apology letter?

"An echo fades into the night, an eerie mournful sound. A shooting star disappears from sight, and I crumble to the ground. There is no life within this garden; my sobs are the only sound. I have poisoned the honeyed fountain where your adore could be found. Dazed, I stare at the stars over, my grieving fills the night! Unintended betrayal of adore has hidden you from my sight. I remember how it used to be when we shared our fears and delights. You are a treasured pal to me. How can I make things right? Feeling afraid, icy and lonely, I long to tell you how I feel, but I don't know if you want to hear me. The pain for us is much too real. Should I back away and build a wall and block away how I feel? Or, should I give you a call? I know we both needed some time to heal. An echo fades into the night as our friendship disappears. How do I know what is right? How can I ease my fears? If I do call you again, would the old wounds reappear? I can't stand to cause you pain. Hurting you again is my worst fear!"

Voting Question: who can help me with this descriptive paragraph?

My dream home would be one of the most incredible houses. Your first view before getting at my home, you will find an organic garden porch with fabulous wild blossom and two fantastic fountains which are surrounded by tiny lights that could illuminate it every night. Also you will look big windows with maximum light and air. Next to that, my stairs are going to be a real gold or whit stairs. Then Id have an almost industrial-size kitchen stocked with colorful fruits and vegetables. At least there would be a lot of appliances that make it no common. And the dining-area would be in the kitchen, which would be big, but cozy. Not forgetting the wine cellar in direct connection. Behind the kitchen would be two corridors. One of that one is going to be cover by family photographs on the wall and the second one would be a hall that communicate me to a cozy bedroom upstairs and a walk in attic with sky lights for an art studio using an elevator instead of the stairs. Maybe that would be my secret bedroom. At the middle of my home, there will be the living room with which will be a familiar place not forgetting the dining. At the second floor would be my room, which will have a spa to use it with my husband and a movie room to share with us. Finally, the backyard would be one of my favorite places to relax, play and like it. This will have a swimming pool at the middle, a bar-coffee in the back and many palms that make me feel in the beach.

Resolved Question: Can someone help me to diagram sentences?

Well, not really a sentence. A freaking poem! I barely know how to diagram sentence but now I need to diagram a poem, and one with words I don't even know. So if anyone is super good at diagramming please help me out. The poem is "Twicknam Garden" by John Donne. I sort of got help on the first stanza, but now I need help with the relax. How could this be diagrammed? 'Twere wholesomer form me, that winter did Benight the glory of this place, And that a grave frost did forbid These trees to giggle, and mock me to my face; But that I may not this disgrace Endure, nor yet leave loving, adore, let me Some senseless piece of this place be; Make me a mandrake, so I may groan here; Or a rock fountain weeping out my year. (3rd stanza) Hither with crystal vials, lovers arrive, And take my tears, which are adore's wine, And try your mistress' tears at home, For every are untrue, that taste not just like mine; Alas, hearts do not in eyes shine, Nor can you more judge lady's thoughts by tears, Than by her shadow, what she wears. O perverse sex, where none is true but she, Who's therefore true, because her truth kills me. I will appreciate every the help I receive, I dont even understand what the poem is saying, less diagram it!

Resolved Question: Could someone correct my english text?

Hi, My name is Kevin, I'm from Germany. This text is about one day of a little journey to London. It is a homework. It would be very helpful, when someone correct it a little. Here the text: Travel Diary My long weekend in London The first day (most people would say, a mandatory day for tourists) was finally over. I personally didn’t like these very typical tourist attractions like Big Ben or Buckingham Palace very much. But nevertheless I think that you must have seen them, at least once in your lifetime. But now it was already the second day and so I suggested to my girlfriend (whom I owe this day) to spend this day at Kensington Gardens, which would – hopefully - not besieged by so many tourists. She was for it, too. So we drove with one of these terrific, black taxis to it. At first we visited the Kensington Palace. In year 1689 the former King William III bought the whole park and built this palace at the west side. Since this date Kensington Gardens is one of the royal parks in London. Things like that are more interesting to me, the stories behind the buildings and places. But admittedly the façade wasn’t so exciting. Better would be a walk through the park. And this was really worthwhile. When you are in the middle of the park you can’t look possible buildings. You think that you are in an artificial park in the middle of the nature. It was so marvelous and beautiful, even the Round Pond with every his sea birds like swans and ducks, it was pretty harmoniously. As we arrived the Peter Pan Statue at The Long Water, a very cute image showing Peter Pan, who stands on a pedestal covered with climbing squirrels, rabbits and mice, my girlfriend suggested to me that we could also walk through Hyde Park and borrow a pedal boat at Serpentine Boat Hire to cruise a bit on the Serpentine. That was a great idea, I thought, and so we went together on the still long way almost to the other side of Hyde Park, where the hire was located. During the long march, nay, rather during the great walk, we have briefly halted at Italian Gardens to like the sight of the fountains and an ice cream. But then we finally reached the boat hire. I must admit that I had had some concerns when it came to the availability of the boats, but especially there the fact that we were there on a Friday has paid off. There were plenty of boats. And so we rented a two person boat for two hours. And what can I say? It was a dream, which was also mainly linked to the sunny and cloudless weather (alleged rain in London is common). I must say that this day was perfect from start to finish. After the little boat tour we finally went to Speaker’s Corner at the north of Hyde Park. Up to this point my brain couldn’t do much with that name. But now I know and in my opinion it is a brilliant idea to fix a place where you can say what you think. In the evening I and my girlfriend went to a restaurant at Covent Garden Piazza. This likeable day was followed by two more, among other things we visited the Sherlock Holmes Museum and tasted different wines at Vinopolis.

Some Muslim scholars on ABC argued that "houris" really means raisins and that the Quran and the Hadiths dont promise virgins in paradise. And that it was a lie to make Islam look bad..... But Quran 44:51-54 --As for the righteous, they shall be lodged in peace together amid gardens and fountains. arrayed in wealthy silks and fine brocad. Even Thus; and we shall WED THEM to dark eyed houris Quran 52:50-- They will recline on thrones arranged in ranks .And we shall marry them to houris with wide lovely eyes Quran 50:70-74 -- In each (of the gardens) shall be virgins chaste and fair. Which of your Lord's blessings would you deny? Dark- eyed virgins, sheltered in their tents whom neither man nor jinnee will have touched. Quran 56:22-24 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, lustrous eyes- like unto pearls well-guarded. A reward for deeds of their past life. Quran 78:31-34-- Surely for the godfearing awaits of place of security, gardens and vineyards and maidens with SWELLING BREAST, like of age, and a cup overflowing Why would terroist blow themselves up for a box of raisins??? And on top of that since when do raisins have lustrous eyes and swelling breast????

Resolved Question: Do you like my story so far?

I have written the introduction. Remember this is NOT a chapter. Sorry that it's so long though, you can skim it if you want to. Emme Lewitt pulled down Sunset Blvd. just as the bright yellow sun began to set behind the big magnolia trees construction workers had planted there a few months before. Everything on this road seemed to scream money- something Emme seemed to be deprived of now. Keeping the bankruptcy below wraps was every she needed now. No more drama, and especially no more pain. The diamonds, the dresses, the insane shopping sprees- were now every out of her grasp. And how many more lies could she make up before the girls caught on? Once, Lucille had asked her about going out for brunch the following Sunday, but Emme couldn’t help herself when she’d blurted out that she was trying to improve the dying relationship she had with Mark. That had been true, in a sense. Emme and Mark’s once thriving adore had turned into a battle since he’d found out the truth. First, he’d pushed her into the fridge. Emme’s fake fingernails clawed the front of it in desperation, leaving permanent scratch marks every over it. “You bitch! Look at the mess you’ve gotten us into now! The money… every gone!” his face had been red with fury. First it was her jaw, then her right eye that he'd decided to vent his anger out on. She’d touched her eye, only to feel something warm drip down the side. She looked up at him, except this time he didn’t look as handsome as before. He was blurry… was he really? She couldn’t remember that night well. She had tried to push it into the back of her mind for now. The honking of someone’s Camaro had jolted her back to the gift. “Learn how to steer, you bastard!” shouted the driver, only to swerve past her and turn right onto the next road. Emme ignored him and continued driving until she reached the nicest home on the road- Chanel’s. Red and white rose bushes lined the path to the front door. A fountain lay in the centre of the big driveway. Paradise. The clicking of Emme’s red D&G heels followed her up to the big wraparound porch. Careful to knock gently on the glass door, Emme looked around anxiously, questioning whether she was making the right or wrong decision. She felt her pocket to make sure that the gun was still there. And it was. She flinched. Celene had been her best pal. Or so she thought. Emme dropped to her knees and began to pray that Celene had been invited to the gala. What if she hadn’t been able to make it? Would everyone catch her with the knife and call the cops? Just as she stood up to walk back to her car, Chanel opened the door and grabbed her wrist. Emme’s jaw nearly dropped when she saw Chanel. Chanel’s short black dress complimented her short blonde bob. In her right hand, she held a Michael Kors brown and black clutch. Chanel’s red lips quickly parted into a big grin. “Hey, gorgeous! Join the party!” she pulled Emme inside just as a chilly breeze swept through the streets of Secret Gardens. Emme quickly examined the beautiful decorations and the amount of people that were walking through the million-dollar estate. Everyone seemed to be wearing only the best designer outfits- Emme couldn’t help but feel left out. Her plain white and gold Givenchy dress had been found in a pile with last year’s outfits. Lost in her thoughts, Emme twisted out of Chanel’s grasp and bolted across the crowded room. She squinted around frantically until she caught sight of Celene. She was wearing black heels and a mid-thigh black dress, similar to Chanel’s. Had they gone shopping without her? Emme’s pale face quickly turned a bright red as she pushed through the crowd, shoving a dancing couple on her way over. “Emme? You look ama-“ Celene’s words were quickly clip off as Emme pulled out the gun and held it against Celene’s forehead. Celene tried to say something, but it just came out as tiny sputters of words. “Is it true, bitch? Stealing from me, your best pal?” a grin of satisfaction crossed Emme’s face. “W-w-w-what are you talking about?” Celene asked, her eyebrows forming a perfect V shape. Emme pulled Celene’s hair back with her other hand. “Oh, you know.” She pressed her fingers more firmly on the trigger. Now, people had gathered around to watch, most in disbelief, some getting ready to tug their cellphones out. “Em, you don’t have to do this. I’m on your side, remember?” a look of anxiousness and confusion crossed Celene’s now pale face. At that moment, Emme began to lose control. The room began to spin. Then she pulled the trigger. It wasn’t like it was going to be a regret, though. Ever. This had to happen. Celene had it coming. Celene fell to the floor, unconscious. Sparkly red blood spread every around her body. Emme wiped her hands and stood up, walking towards the door. Then it suddenly hit her as difficult as the wind that was blowing. She was now a criminal. If you opened a book and read that, would you continue reading? Please rate Thats. the. point.

Open Question: Ways to become immortal?

Well where should I start? I want to become immortal. I know crazy dream and fairy tales, but it's a dream of mine nonetheless. I was wondering if y'every had any myths, legends, stories, or other things that show you how to become immortal. Could y'every also tell me more about the fountain of youth and the garden of Eden? Much appreciated. I know it's a very crazy dream that might now even be real, but it's worth a shot.

Resolved Question: Aquatic garden Fountain Remote Controlled Valves?

Hi, I've got a waterfall in my garden. I change 20% of the water from the pond everywhere week and I'd like to automate the system. I'm looking for remote controlled valves to replace my manual valves. The pipes are barely 1" wide. I would need 2-3 r/c valves to redirect water to the drain or let it flow back to the waterfall. Thank you,

Hello! We would like to put a tiny pond in our garden. We have no plans to receive any fish (maybe a water feature/fountain/plants). Are there any solar powered pumps or filters on the market that would keep the water clean. Ive seen solar powered fountains etc but i would like something that keeps the water nice. Much adore x

Open Question: Sims for PS2 crashes every time?

I have a PS2 (fat one) that plays films, cds and games absolutely fine except The Sims. It played it fine for years then started crashing every time I played it, so I bought a new Sims and it worked okay for about a week and is now doing the exact same thing. i thought maybe it was because it uses a lot of memory so i deleted every my other saved games in browser, and tested it and it workd but then next time i went to play it again it crashed! when it crashes it's usually some of the sound effects that go first, (characters voices, doors slamming, toilet flushing, car honking, baby crying) but things like the fountain noises or birds in the background stay on. then the pople start disappearing like when the dad got in from work the car couldnt steer off cause he was supposedly standing there, but although i could select him, he had disappeared and i couldnt command him to do anything. then if they go to receive changed they receive stuck in the flowery curtain that covers them while they receive dressed. and then from there you cant leave, keep or anything and then it completely freezes as in you cant press any button or anything, but i could still hear the garden noises which was annoying!!!! anyway yeah,so it cant be the ps2 cause it plays anything else perfectly. and i wanna think its not the game either because this is the second one i've bought and they're difficult to find these days, and not cheap either. i've read that some ps2's dont like playing blueback discslike the sims, but as i said, mine played it for year and years and its only in the last year or so that it wont play the sims.i dont have another blueback to check that theory though. somebody help!

Resolved Question: How do I clean a clogged water fountain head?

I have a mini garden pond. The pump is pumping perfectly. But recently, the piece that the pump hose hooks to that shoots the water back into the pond has slowed dramatically. I don't know what it is called, but it is a decorative piece (mine is a turtle sculpture) that the hose hooks to and the water shoots out of its "mouth" back into the pond. I don't know how to clean it out because there is no way to take it apart. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Resolved Question: This country needs affordable health care...so why are hospitals so lavish and extravagantly fancy?

Here is a link to the hospital if you think I am exaggerating..... http://www.henryfordwestbloomfield.com/body_wbloomfield.cfm?id=52381 I don't have insurance, and neither does my husband because we can't afford $600 month premiums for insurance that doesn't even KICK IN until you pay $5000 out of pocket! But it is really difficult to sit and hear to everyone complaining about the EXPLODING cost of hospitals these days with every the hospitals in my area that are constantly renovating and competing to be the most "lavish" or fancy or architecturally beautiful when what people really need are just some common sense medical care from good doctors who will take a few minutes to hear to them. For Example, I recently visited a pal who was in a local hospital in my area that has "expanded" to include the following...A boardwalk with HUNDREDS of exclusive shops (required a trolly inside it was so huge!), marble fountains and floors and glass elevators and railings, live TV shows in their possess Greenhouses and celebrity kitchens, multiple conference centers complete with reflecting pools, grand pianos and atriums with full size trees indoors, a pediatric wing that was bult to look like a giant tree home, complete with Tree shaped doors, private rooms with twenty foot long leather couches that curve along the wall for visiting relatives, 72 inch plasma TV's in the room along with Xbox, and complete cable/internet access, Floor to ceiling bay windows for a panoramic view of the gardens and lakes on the property. Now my pal could NEVER have afforded to stay in a hotel this nice, and couldn't pay for health coverage either. Thank God she qualifies for to be insured thru a medicaid program that covers this...but who is paying for every this excessive stuff? The taxpayers in the United States. I can't help but think that she could receive really good care at a reasonable cost at a less fancy hospital...but who is going to tell the hospital where it spends it's money if someone is willing to say its "necessary" to have an UBER fancy hospital in order to give our citizens "modern up to date medical care"? Okay, so anyone out there look one of these luxury hotels er...hospitals? Apparently everyone here who answered the question lives in Cuba!

Resolved Question: I'm a 17-year old junior in high school, desperately searching for feedback on my writing. Have at it.?

“…and I said frankly, Lieutenant, I don’t think the horse would appreciate that!” Lord Pemberton crowed, slapping his knee so difficult his flesh jiggled. The relax of the party laughed along, although Asaria’s was a little half-hearted. Sella shot her a glare and Asaria increased her hilarity until she was the only one left laughing. When Dempsey looked at her as if she were a bit daft, she clamped her mouth close. “I say, Lord Pemberton, it’s amazing that you’ve been able to keep your sense of humor, even on the battlefield,” Zander said, grinning. Asaria resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Her brother was such a suck-up. “A sense of humor is one of the most important things a man can possess, son,” Lord Cal said. Apparently the sentiment did not lie with his possess son, for Dempsey had been grumbling about his strawberry juice not being icy enough for the last thirty minutes. As Zander, her dad, and Lord Pemberton lapsed into stories of their triumphs on the battlefield, Sella turned to Lady Pemberton and began discussing blossom arrangements for the wedding. Inwardly, Asaria felt a little piece of her sanity shrivel up and break off. She quickly hid her look of horror when Dempsey turned to her. “It’s quite a lovely day out, if a bit hot. Would you care to accompany me for a stroll around the grounds, your highness?” “N—” “She would adore that!” Sella nearly shrieked, overhearing them. “I would adore that,” Asaria repeated quickly. “Aye, the gardens are lovely this time of year,” Joreth agreed. “Imalda will chaperone you two,” he added, waving a hand in the maid’s direction. She stood immediately and curtsied. “Yes, your majesty.” Gritting her teeth, Asaria accepted Dempsey’s outstretched hand. The three of them, Imalda a few steps behind, set off, stepping down the marble stairs of the back of the palace veranda. She picked up the heavy yellow material of her dress so she wouldn’t trip and fall flat on her face. “Have you any hobbies, my lord?” she asked as they strolled along the cobblestone path leading to the gardens. She tried to keep her touch on his sleeve as light as possible. “Hobbies?” Dempsey murmured, glancing at her. “I rather like fishing. Very relaxing, it is. But I am not a man that has very much extra time, you look. There is always business to attend to, and appearances to be made. It is most important that one make their reputation as esteemed as possible.” He put strong emphasis on the last four words, and Asaria ignored the barb, realizing he was referring to her latest stint in the papers. “I expect that of my peers,” he said. And my wife. He did not have to say it the words. “Right,” Asaria said, breathing sharply through her nose. On either side of them, luscious pink roses accompanied by vibrant violets, cheerful daisies and shy orange tulips sprouted through the well-manicured emerald grass. Deeper into the garden, fountains with rock figures of faeries spouted chilly, clear water. Birds sang in the trees. It was very scenic and relaxing, but only five minutes into her intended’s company, Asaria was set to boil. “And what of you? Wait, do not tell me,” Dempsey smiled. “You’re a most accomplished water colorist. Or you crochet beautiful dresses. Or maybe you play a flute like an angel?” “Er…no. I am very good at riding, however. And archery is a favorite past time of mine. Swimming, too,” she grinned. Dempsey stopped so suddenly that Imalda nearly crashed into him. The maid stumbled to regain her balance. “Surely you’re jesting,” he said, his face reddening, his eyes widening in horror. “It is no place for a lady to do such things!” Asaria swallowed difficult. “Of course I was kidding,” she said weakly. “What was your dad saying about having a sense of humor earlier…?” He visibly relaxed and began strolling again. “Ah. Yes. Sense of humor. But for a moment there, your highness, you had me fooled. I honestly thought there was nothing to commend you to me. Let us face it; you have certainly become more attractive since our last meeting, but you are no stunning beauty. I can’t marry a hoyden!” he laughed. She could hear Imalda’s outraged gasp behind them, but Dempsey was oblivious. They should not have, but the words clip her deep. “Nothing to commend me?” she asked sharply, pulling away from him. Dempsey raised a brow. “Your highness…Asaria—” “‘Your highness’ will do,” she snapped. He frowned. “This is a marriage of convenience, is it not? As long as we are being forced into a dishonest position, we should at least be honest with each other. I beg you not to take offense. Because remember, dear…’til death do us part,” he winked. “I suppose you’re right,” she said, and they resumed walking. She turned her head, pretending to admire the gardens, so Dempsey could not look the sharp tears that stung her eyes. For clarification, this piece actually DOES NOT have a time frame. It takes place in a fictional land.

Open Question: Photography locations in Marietta Ga and also Dahlonega Ga?

I am a local photographer in marietta Ga. and always looking for new places to take my clients. I know about roswell mill, kennestone mountain, marietta square, the paper mill ruins, east cobb park, sweet water park, lake acworth, the botanical gardens, centennial park in Atlanta, and fernwood. I was hoping someone would have some local insight where there might be some beautiful scenery/landscape, and anything that is different than the norm. Possibly somewhere with great graffiti or a really pretty fence, like pretty fields, pretty train tracks, places that have rock or brick walls, anywhere that has sort of like hall ways or like tiny allies, any tunnels, a really pretty deserted road, bridges, a fountain, a store or somewhere that has nice decorative big doors, stairs, really wide trees, any nice of really old walls that maybe have vines growing up it. AI adore trees with spanish moss and weeping willows if there are any that anyone could tell me about that would be great. Also I will be living in Dahlonega Ga in a few months and I am not familiar with the area, I know a few of the hiking trails but some more would be great also I would adore some information about the best country club golf courses around there. I know that there is one that I pass with a gorgeous bridge but not sure of the name. Also if anyone is familiar with any of the trails where there might be: waterfalls, and creeks, big rocks someone can sit on or lean against, beautiful trees, or over hanging trees, or trees that have possibly fallen or have something very unique about them. Any of these criteria can apply for both locations. Detailed information is most appreciated. Thank you in advance for the information. And thank you for reading my long question! haha Check out some of my photography if you have a facebook on www.facebook.com/Vmariephotographyy

Resolved Question: Where to take prom pictures?

So I live in a town that has a beach, has a waterway where the sun sets, has a river where the sun sets, and has many parks and gardens with blooming flowers and trees and green grass and ponds and fountains. The majority of my prom group want to just take pictures on a dock on the ocean or waterway. I DO NOT! I want somewhere with options! With a gazebo to take them below, with a bridge to stand on, with a tree to stand by, with blooming flowers in the background. Not a dock with seagull pop every over it and our hair being blown in our faces by the wind coming off the water and our hair frizzing up from the humidity! Not to mention my dress is more of a hippie style dress with purples and pinks and teals and greens, something that'd go much better with green grass than the ocean. Help!

Resolved Question: Translation english-italian .. help!?

would someone be nice enough to translate this text (from English to Italian), please!? Increasingly, architecture, sculpture, and walled gardens came to be regarded as part of a complex (but not unified) whole. In the Villa Giulia (c. 1550-55), the most significant secular project of its time, Vasari appears to have been in charge of the scenic integration of the various elements; Giacomo da Vignola designed part of the actual building, while the Mannerist sculptor Bartolommeo Ammanati was largely responsible for the sculptural decoration. In spite of the continuous stepped vista, the building makes its impact through a succession of diverse effects rather than by mounting up to a unified climax. There, and in Vasari's design for the Uffizi Palace (1560), the vista seems to have been based upon the supposed style of antique stage sets, as interpreted by Peruzzi. It is not surprising that the Venetian architect Andrea Palladio came closest to achieving a fully Mannerist style in his Teatro Olimpico at Vicenza, where the receding vistas and wealthy sculptural details create an effect of extraordinary complexity. Similarly, it is not surprising that the greatest of the later Mannerist architects in Florence, Bernardo Buontalenti, should have been an acknowledged master of stage design. He was employed at the Medici court as a designer of grandly fantastic ephemera--mock river battles and stage intermezzi (interval entertainments) in which elaborate stage machinery effected miraculous transformations, figures descending from the clouds to slay dragons that spouted realistic blood, followed by music and dance every'antica. As a garden designer, Buontalenti enriched the traditional formal schemes with entertaining diversions, in which water often played a prominent role--either in fountains or in wetting booby traps for the strolling visitor. Buontalenti's buildings possess much of this capricious spirit in addition to his brilliantly inventive command of fluently plastic detailing. In their treatment of detail, 16th-century Florentine architects inevitably looked toward Michelangelo as their example of innovative genius. Michelangelo's Medici Chapel in San Lorenzo was executed, in Vasari's opinion, "in a style more varied and novel than that of any other master," and "thus every artists are below a great and eternal obligation to Michelangelo, seeing that he broke the fetters and chains that had earlier confined them to the creation of traditional forms." By Vasari's time the Mannerist quest for novelty had reached a thoroughly self-conscious level.
