Resolved Question: Best headphones for mowing/landscaping with built in Radio + IPod jack?

I am a landscape contractor. I do a fair deal of mowing and other jobs like using a chainsaw, woodchipper, cutting stones/pavers, etc. that requires ear protection. I currently use a $20 pair of Husquvarna headphones, that work well enough but I am looking into buying a better pair that also has a built in radio and more importantly a connection for my IPod. I am just looking for opinions from people who have had experience with some of these products. Which brands had the best noise cancelling? Best audio sound? Best durability? Any other info that would help me make my choice. I am willing to spend a good amount if needed, but before I pay $50-100+ for headphones, I'd like some advice from you guys. I have seen some from Ryobi at Home Depot, and have heard about a couple other brands called Peltor's and AOSaftey. Thanks to every that answer The 1st two answers must be from people who either dont mow a lot, have extremely durable ears, or dont value sound quality. I currently do use my regular ipod headphones with the ear protection over them. 1st of every after about 10 minutes my ears hurt like hell from the ear protection putting pressure into the headphones. 2nd, I have to turn the volume up to the max setting and still can barely hear the music, let alone the sound of my machine which I need to hear at some volume in case there is a problem with it. And if you are mowing every day in the hot sun in 80plus degree weather, sweat becomes an issue. Why do I want to spend $100 dollars? To receive something of high quality that will cover every my needs and last a long time. THe ones that go for 100 bucks not only allow Ipod hookups and ear protection, they also have volume controls so you can adjust exactly how much sound feedback you want or dont want from your equipment. I garuntee if you mowed daily for 1 week with that $100 pai

Which of the following is the largest side length that Jacob could pick for his square patio?

Resolved Question: What kind of lawsuit should I file?

I work for a landscaping company. We hired an employee who was working with us on a Client (I will refer to the client as Client). He stopped showing up to work and did not call. About a month later we received a call from the Client asking about the new water feature contract. Apparently after this guy quit working with us, he approached the Client as if he was still working with us and had gotten her to sign a new contract changing the style of the water feature. He had been working for her for a month, and after she found out he wasn't actually working with us, she fired him. We have been fixing this job now for a few months, he messed things up quite a bit. We would like to sue him for the cost we have incurred fixing what he messed up. We also found out he had a contractors license that was revoked twice. Our damages are less than 10,000 so I was thinking we could file a suit in tiny claims court. Im trying to figure out what exactly we should sue him for... because he has caused us financial damages, the Client has said she is going to give us bad reviews, he never told us he ever had a contractors license [or that it was revoked], and he scammed the Client who is actually a senior citizen. Any help on how I should proceed would be appreciated. He was not fired, he simply did not show up, or call. We sent him letters about it. He went to the Client using our logos, uniforms, etc. Basically what we want, is the money we had to spend out of pocket, to fix what he messed up. We hired him as a general laborer, not knowing he had ever had a contractors license, and having no reason to find out if he did.

Resolved Question: Top 10 facts of US the mind controlled public trained to laugh at -- How trained are you to laugh at facts?

1 - Obama admits U.S. government used Guatemalan prisoners for illegal medical experiments When we exposed the U.S. government's long list of medical crimes against humanity back in 2006, the mainstream media was silent (http://www.naturalnews.com/019187.html). People insisted the government was ethical and honest, and it could never be involved in crimes against humanity. (ROFL!) When the truth came out about Guatemalan prisoner experiments, however, it went viral so quickly the mainstream media couldn't whitewash the story. So now, the whole world knows the U.S. government and its National Institutes of Health (NIH) are medical criminals that murder innocent human beings in order to study new drugs for Big Pharma: #2 - FDA caught using KGB-style infiltration and spying techniques to entrap raw milk distribution hub It's legal to sell unpasteurized orange juice in America as long as you put a label on it, but selling unpasteurized milk earns you the "KGB treatment" from the FDA and the California Dept. of Agriculture, both of which have become criminal gangs running vindictive vengeance campaigns against target innocents. NaturalNews broke the story of how the FDA used spy cameras, secret infiltration techniques and other traps to gather evidence before raiding Rawesome Foods at gunpoint, then destroying $50,000+ in food in front of astonished witnesses. #3 - Institute of Medicine's links with military industrial complex exposed by NaturalNews In yet another investigative story that NaturalNews broke in 2011, we dug into the funding sources of the Institute of Medicine and discovered it receives enormous financial support from the Pentagon, military defense contractors and numerous globalist organizations that profit from war. No wonder the IOM promotes vaccines so aggressively -- it's a war against humanity, waged one syringe at a time. Read more: #4 - USDA caught running animal mass murder programs to kill birds and mammals To the shock of many, the USDA was exposed this year for operating mass-murder programs that target animals such as birds, foxes, wild pigs and other creatures. This is primarily accomplished with mass poisoning chemicals that also end up killing other animals such as Bald Eagles. #5 - Weather control technology confirmed and functional close Abu Dhabi Mention "weather control technology" to your average fluoride head, and they think you're some nice of "wingnut" conspiracy theorist. Yet weather control technology is in full operation just outside Abu Dhabi, where a huge array of negative ion generators produce artificial rain storms that dump millions of gallons of fresh water on the desert landscape: #6 - InfoWars releases hidden camera water fluoridation video Let there be no doubt about how dangerous, corrosive and even deadly those toxic fluoride chemicals really are. Alex Jones and the InfoWars team grabbed undercover water fluoridation video in Austin, Texas, and posted it on the internet. What's admitted on the video should be shocking to everyone: #7 - Documents prove Dr. Wakefield was innocent, BMJ conspired to discredit him In a turn of events that has yet to be acknowledged by the mainstream media, Dr. Andrew Wakefield was proven innocent of the spurious charges leveled against him. Documents prove that he did not fabricate his research as was claimed by the medical journals and the mainstream media, including CNN. In fact, the accusation itself was the real criminal fabrication. look this story to learn more (and watch the video): http://www.naturalnews.com/031211_A... #8 - USDA conspires with Monsanto to de-regulate GE alfalfa There's nothing quite like GMOs to slow-kill an entire nation. You receive increased infertility, organ toxicity and runaway environmental contamination, too. In 2011, the USDA went every out on attacking the world with GMOs, unleashing both GE alfalfa and GE corn on the U.S. public: #9 - FDA admits factory-produced chicken meat contains arsenic In 2011, the mainstream media went crazy reporting trace levels of arsenic in apple juice, but it never bothered to report on the much higher concentrations of arsenic found in chicken meat. Our NaturalNews story on arsenic found in chicken meat received a whopping 78,000 Facebook shares in 2011, making it one of our highest-shared stories of the year: #10 - Merck vaccine scientist Dr. Maurice Hilleman admits vaccines contain cancer-causing viruses Dr. Maurice Hilleman's secret vaccine recording emerged in 2011, causing shockwaves of disbelief to spread across the internet as people heard this Merck scientist l http://www.naturalnews.com/z034501_conspiracy_theories_facts_2011.html =============== How brainwashed to giggle on command are you -- How much does your willful blindness and obedience suit you -- vs your master the media ?

Resolved Question: What Do Government Truck Drivers Do in Your area?

I live in the bluest of blue pro union city, county and state. With every this turmoil and discussion of government workers, we arrive to realize the work and standards can vary by area. I would like to hear from different areas, what the work requirements of government truck drivers are. In my area, the government truck drivers are every union. I have no problem with the drivers who work snow plows, trash pickup make deliveries and pickups etc? What I question are some of the other work crews that do not require the trucks to be in constant motion. The examples, I am referring to in my city are water works, tree trimming or any type of activity where a work crew can be at a site every day. Because the truck drivers are union drivers, their job is just to steer a truck. So they pick up the workers steer them to a work site, and then stand around, read a paper or snooze until the other workers are done. This could be multiple hours or every day. I look private contractors who do landscaping or other work where the driver is also a worker.

Resolved Question: What is included in the cost for a landscape architect?

We hired a landscape architect to draw up plans for our backyard. He quoted us a flat rate and we paid half upfront and half when the plans were delivered. We were below the impression that the plans would include every the information we needed. We told the architect that we would hire the contractors to actually do the work. When he delivered our plans it was just a preliminary design. He wanted an extra $3500+ to deliver the following: Irrigation Plan and Details 600.00 Drainage Plan and Details 750.00 Lighting Plan and Details 575.00 Construction Plan and Details 1,200.00 Planting Plan and Details 750.00 Is this a common practice? We have now hired a landscaping company to execute his conceptual plan but he will not leave us alone about how everything is being done incorrectly and we really need to have these plans from him. I am not sure what to do. When we had someone plan our front yard he included the irrigation, design, and planting plan in one fee and I was below the impression that was how most people did their business.

He has been putting up fliers, signs, and giving out t-shirts with his logo and information.

Resolved Question: Bad workmanship on the front of my house?

After 17 years of living with two brick planters that were not attached to the front of our home, but added on in an amateurish way, we recently had a little extra money and decided to finally do something about these ugly things. Without going into every particular, we hired a man who had previously built our deck in the back of our home and we were pleased with his work, but more importantly his work ethic. My husband was very keen to hire this same man and so we did. We also had some landscaping done at the same time. My husband, thinking this man is top-notch every the way, said let him pick a landscaper he works with and is familiar with. He picked the same one who planted around our deck. The landscaping is at best mediocre. We have added several elements to it and it still needs a "professional" eye, but we can live with it. The real problem is the quality of the work performed by this contractor. We had him construct a simple wood railing with posts to frame a tiny brick entrance. We have a gallery across the second floor of our home and it seemed a natural "echo," if you will, of that architectural detail. He used very inferior grade wood that is gnarled and cracked and even has holes where it looks as though screws were, and painted it with one coat off paint. It looks like....you know what....and the finial on one of the posts isn't nailed down...or whatever, so it detaches easily. We are both sick. He called my husband and wants to be paid. My husband told him he needed to sand and repair the holes, and add another coat of paint. I am at a complete loss. This is the FRONT of our home. We live in a nice neighborhood and were hoping to up the value of our home. We are older and are looking to sell it in a few years. What does one do? I am not good at criticizing people. I just expect people to do good quality work. He was a different person with us before he got the job. Then a personality shift occurred, wanting to do the quickest, easiest thing. We cannot afford to start over. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks for every the "should have" advice. The deal is done, however. What we "should have done" does not really help, but I suppose this advice was given for any future work we may pick to do. It still is incomprehensible that someone would use such inferior grade wood and perform such needy workmanship/craftsmanship on someone's home. I'm just blown away. We are old people and have never had this experience in almost 70 years, but there's a first for everything.

Resolved Question: Tips on dealing with landscaping contractor?

Signed a contract but haven't paid. Money is not the problem by the way. I would pay them if they finish the project and almost prepaid them too. Project would've taken 3 days max to finished. They started half way through but then didn't show up for work. I thought going with a big company would keep me this trouble but of course with my luck it didn't. I contacted the consultant who contacted the project manager and they kept saying it'll be done the next day but then nobody would showed up for work. They dumped a big pile of soil in my front yard and just left it there. it's been two weeks and still nothing. I give them a last warning and says if it doesn't receive done in two days i'll end the contract. I figure i'll have to pay them for the sucky job they already did but can i make them take back the soil? Has this happened to you before and what did you do? Any tips on this i'd appreciate it. I will report them to the BBB or the landscaping contractor. Ii was stupid and didn't read the contract carefully - it didn't say on there what date the project will be finished. But i have email correspondent from them promising the finished date several times. Can that act as a contract?

Resolved Question: How do you determine whether a contractor can handle your remodel? ?

We want to do lots of work on our home and yard in the coming months, and are starting to look into getting estimates. We are debating using friends with different specialities for some jobs, hiring companies that specialize and doing discrete jobs (e.g., the fencing and yard remodel with a fencing/landscaping company), or getting a general contractor to handle every of it. We have big plans, but also have plans that can be broken into stages/work zones to make things in the home livable since we have two kids below four. How does one make decisions about the best plan? How do you know if a contractor or a pal can really handle the job? We have some recommendations for people and know some, but some of the work seems a little more involved (cutting windows in concrete walls, taking ceiling up to rafters with insulation to give height... Big jobs). Any advice on interviewing contractors or specialty carpenters, plumbers, etc. , would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The loan officer explained that since we did most of the work ourselves and did NOT hire a licensed contractor the bank will require BOTH an appraisal AND us turning in every receipt/ check written and these totals will be compared and they will take the lesser of the two amounts. The issue is we have SPENT less than the home will appraise for because we have in fact done a lot of the work ourselves (flooring, paint, landscape ect.) This seems unfair that “sweat equity” is not counted if you did not hire a general contractor. We were trying to avoid paying PMI insurance by using sweat equity to gain our 20%…is this just a Fannie Mae thing or are every loan companies like this??????? Yes we do have every check and receipt written! I'm sorry i'm a little confused...so if we did receive a quote from a contractor (they charge around $30K) and decided not to use him we can use this quote in a packet we submit even though we did not accutally hire/pay him? Just as a contractor does not "pay himself" and includes his quote in his packet? Also upon including a contractors quote...if we didn't use him do they still credit this quote amount to the total value of the home even though no money was exchanged?

Resolved Question: Is there a secret to getting contractors to call you back?

When we had our lawn landscaped, I called 6 people; 1 called me back. Now I am trying to receive our hardwood floors refinished. No returned phone calls, no kept appointments. How does one find a contractor who will actually call back or keep an appointment? I have called people I know and those recommended by others; still nothing. I heard from a pal that one of the people I called is hurting for money and desperate for work; he never called me back either. I called him twice. What am I doing wrong?

Resolved Question: Hiring contractors for landscape renovations?

I'd like to receive a new fence, a new deck, and a new patio. I am not handy and do not want to attempt any of these projects myself. Is it cheaper to hire one company to do every three projects, or to hire a company that does just fences, just does decks, etc? I already priced out fences, but I'm wondering if I should just hire a local landscaping contractor for either every three projects or just the patio and deck together. What do you guys think? Also... does anyone want to venture a guess as to how much 14x14 patio and a 5x16 foot deck would cost in York County, Pennsylvania?

Resolved Question: What's going to happen?

I bought some land from my uncle in WA. For a long time, I had it in my sister's name but then she turned it over to me. I thought it would be easier to put it in both my husband and my name. He has been using my money to pay for contractors and instillation of utilities and doing landscaping. So, now I want to receive a divorce. I guess I'm stuck with having to sell the property, paying off my husband for his half or vice versa. I just think I'm gonna end up losing it since he talks about it like its his and makes me feel guilty for taking it away from him. I feel bad because every my money went into it and that it has been in my family's name until recently. What do you think? Sometimes I think we'll end up having to share it as a divorced couple.

Resolved Question: Does my homeowners policy cover damage to my property due to a broken underground drainage culvert?

An underground drainage culvert running underneath my property has rusted out and collapsed. Because of this condition, road surface water drainage is bypassing the culvert and has opened an underground stream. As this stream continues run, it has created a big sink hole in front of my home. The damage so far, includes a collapsed retaining wall, a sunken asphalt driveway, falling trees and other landscaping structures. The soil around my home is saturated causing my home foundation to settle. Some interior damage such as drywall cracks and window cracking has occurred. With winter approaching I will certainly experience additional damage. My Farmers Insurance adjuster (Help Point) told me this damage was not covered and has denied my claim. In reading my policy, I believe that some if not every of the damage is covered. This includes trees, shrubs and what is called 'additional structures' I'm assuming this would include the damage to my driveway, retaining walls and other landscaping improvements. What options are available to me? Should I pick to litigate in tiny claims court? Is there arbitration options open to me? I am a general contractor and can perform every of the repairs. I can do the repairs for about six thousand dollars out of pocket for material and labor. Using local contractors I could expect repair cost to exceed nine thousand dollars. My deductible is twenty five hundred dollars. Are there any precedents for this type of loss? What should be my course of action?

Resolved Question: Biological father fails to protect his daughter from evil stepmother?

Is this a good reason for fathers not to have custody? Because their overriding need for sex fails them from protecting their possess kids? "Mr Moreno, who is a a landscape contractor, stated that his wife (the victim's stepmother) had been abusing the child for years. He stated that he felt bad about the situation, but failed to take action." http://www.theweeklyvice.com/2011/04/couple-jailed-after-forcing-12-year-old.html [Women can be just as bad mothers. I heard of numerous stories were the stepfather was molesting the daughter and the mom refused to do anything about it, or even believe it.] Of course. But we're just inferior women. We shouldn't be held up to the standard of a superior male. I mean men think they are superior. Maybe they should act like it. And the amount of men who have sole custody is very tiny compared to the number of women who have sole custody, so men should really have a spotless record compared to us. I shudder to think of the rates of abuse if every fathers had sole custody after divorce.

Resolved Question: Does it have to be this hard to take care of my Mother?

I am a 36yo male in Oklahoma. I was in a relationship for almost 10years and we didn't have problems until we were about to receive married. She changed her mind so I left. I didn't want to live with someone that didn't want to be married to me. So at the same time (be the way I have 3 1/2 sisters that are nuts and out of control) one of them came up pregnant and she made the mistake of letting him move in (he had been in and out of mental health places, she felt sorry for him plus he was the dad to be of a Grandchild). So she asked me if since I was moving on out of a relationship if I'd arrive here and help her receive the girls on track and help with the whole situation. So I did. Baby's daddy of course is gone and out of the pic and the older 1/2 sister moved out and the youngest sister is nuts too and refuses her anti-D's. So it's a struggle to say the least. It is just one thing or another. Oh at the same time the one for pregnant (at15) Mom was in the hospital from a heart attack then 6 months later I took her in for pneumonia and they found lung cancer. I've foot basically the whole bill for over 2 years of treatment (co pays and deductibles) paid a ton of her bills to take the load off and took care of the home like it was mine (maintenance, put in landscaping and fences, I've been busy) which I don't mind because it's my mom. I've took her to each and every chemo treatment and radiation treatments and every single doctor's visits. I possess my possess Business (const, General Contractor) I've turned away jobs because I couldn't dedicate full time. I mean it's insane because I do it every. Work, take her to the doctors and I still have to arrive home every single day and pick up after my lazy sisters. I've lived good. I don't drink I don't go out I've been completely absent towards any nice of friends or dating or anything even close to any type of relationships. Dedicated fully to taking care of my mom. I feel like it's a battle that only receive worse. With her cancer and fears of dieing I feel like she works against me. I can't snooze at night because my niece HATES her mom and screams at her at every hours of the night. I'm the only one that she loves and that can handle her lil 3 year rearend. I adore her but she isn't my daughter know what I mean. But it's just crazy. The baby's momma is the worst one, she is lazy, she is a slut, she wants to be out of every hours of night. It's insane. I find myself catching things she says which is basiclly underminding me saying she feels one way but then telling them differant. I don't need or want the drama. Should I just give up and move on? What do you every think? I know there's a jealous factor in play. I have a savings account, big plasma and a new motorcycle but they don't look that I've earned what I have. Maybe I'm just venting but these so called sisters, I have let them run me in the ground (stealing my stuff and money, it's a long list that I have to keep gaurd of) idk if I can keep this up without flipping out or moving on.

Resolved Question: ALGEBRA LINEAR EQUATIONS! HELP!?

Please answers these or at least give me some help i only need 2 inequalities with which to graph. I need them by 8 o'clock tonight. #1 You arrive tardy to class for an unexcused reason, and only have 45 minutes to complete your math exam. The exam has to complex word problem questions and 30 easier multiple choice questions. Each correct word problem is worth 20 points and each correct multiple choice question is worth 2 points. You know that it usually takes you 15 minutes to answer a word problem question and only one minute to answer a multiple choice question. Assume that for each question you answer, you receive full credit. How many of each type of question should you answer to receive the maximum possible points? What is the maximum possible points that you can earn in the 45 minutes? #2 A landscape contractor uses a combination of two brands of fertilizers, each containing different amounts of phosphates and nitrates, as shown in the table below. Resolved Question: can someone sue after they paid for services they were originally satisfied with?

I referred a co-worker to a pal who is a plumber for work to be done at her home. It was a sewer hookup and it was very rainy in January. Co-worker was advised to wait until spring because her yard gets very little sun and it could make the work difficult. She wanted it completed rain or shine as soon as possible. Contract was made, every permits were acquired, work was completed & inspected by local government officials and passed. Yard was too wet from recent rains to grate and sew grass seed after work was complete. Rained for 3 months at least once a week so yard couldn't be completed sufficiently. She called to complain that she wanted her yard fixed "that day" (in March) even though it was still too muddy. She claimed she had hired landscapers to arrive out the next day and she needed her yard completed. Grated and seeded the yard anyway and straw was put out. Co-worker placed a call to plumber expressing that she was pleased with the work and would send a check for the remainder of the contracted price. Check received same day. Next day, son of co-worker looks at yard, says he can do a better job, now she wants refund. It's been several weeks, drove by her home and her yard is a mess, someone has tried to landscape or something but they've left it in a mess. It wasn't that way when she was satisfied and paid the remainder of the contracted price. Now she said she is suing (although pal hasn't received formal complaint) and says he has 30 days to fix her yard. I'm so embarrassed for referring this lady to him! Local government says as long as there is no issue with the contracted service of work performed on plumbing, they won't persue investigating a complaint. Basically, after speaking to other people, I found out that this isn't the first time she's pulled something like this and other contractors won't work for her. Can she sue my pal because she said HE left her yard in a mess? What about the "landscapers" she claimed were coming out the next day? He's never been sued and does excellent work. I told him to wait and look if he receives a formal complaint filed in court before he stresses anymore. This lady is crazy! I want to call her and give her a piece of my mind, but I don't want to make things worse for my plumber pal. She's been difficult from the beginning and he already knocked a chunk of money off her contract because I worked with her for 5 years. What should he do? This has become a nightmare! Thank you, for the peace of mind. He does normally take pictures of inside work but I suggested that to him as well. He will do that next time. He does have receipts for the seed and straw. AND yes, since he owns this business with no other employees (he has to subcontract if he needs help with a job) he said he would sue her for legal fees and time missed from other jobs because he is covered up right now and doesn't want to lose any clients over something like this. I appreciate your answers. It's just a real shame there are always people trying to receive something for nothing. A certified electrician once did work for her because she worked with his wife. He charged her a very minimal amount and she paid him half that. She's crazy!

Resolved Question: How to become a license contractor?

Ok I have tried to google this but I can't seem to find anything on how to become a licensed contractor. I have done a few DIY projects growing up, building decks, patios, demo, likes of designs and crafts... I know that I am far from being a professional contractor and I wouldn't try to work on anyone's home with the experience I have, but I want to know how to go about LEARNING more of the actual building and crafting that goes with contracting. I heard there isn't much schooling for it but i don't know of any other way to learn. I plan on asking different contractors around where i live if they would like a part time worker for the summer or even a volunteer just so i can learn more. I am asking anyone who is a contractor how they become it. How did you learn every the stuff you know. I know i want to specialized in bathrooms and kitchens, or landscaping. I look every the shows on DIY like bathtastic, yard crashers...I want to know how to become those guys. Please any help would be amazing cause i am really stuck on this. Thanks
