Resolved Question: Outdoor cat in the Midwest.?
I have an outdoor cat that doesn't receive along with other cats. He has access to our garage out of the elements like rain, wind and snow. What I would like to know is, if we provide him with a pet heating mat below his bedding to help keep him warm should he be ok. Because he would't be able to be in the home. He has had every his vaccinations, including Leukemia. Yes he was neutered as well as checked negative for Leukemia and FIV. The heating mat is electric it's the nice for animals the only allows the temp to receive to 102. He also has a big tote with a fleece deep dog bed inside if he choses to snooze in a cubbyhole . He is around 18 months or older and has always been outside.

Resolved Question: Can I mix epoxy sealer into latex paint?
I have 2 brand new gallons of Glidden Porch and Floor paint. States that it can be used on patios, etc. I'm assuming this is not a true outdoor paint and will not do well when exposed to the elements applied alone. Wondering if I can mix some epoxy into it for better adhesion and/or use a sealer over it once applied. If the epoxy will work, how much do I add to a gallon and what type of mixing is involved?

Resolved Question: Keep Outdoor Electronics Warm In Winter?
I have an electronic sensor that I use outside my home to detect cars. It works great. Only problem is that I live in Michigan and some times the temperature drops to 0 degrees F. The sensor some needs to be kept around 20 degrees F. Right now the sensor is mounted in a tiny tube to protect it from rain and other elements. Is there any type of insulation I could use to keep this sensor warm? It itself doesn't produce heat, and I don't want to use any type of heating system to keep it warm.

Resolved Question: Best way to protect an outdoor piece of art?
I'm planning still, but I have this idea in my head of taking an antique mirror, putting a quote on it and gluing pressed flowers to it as a gift for my mom to put in her garden. What would be the best way to preserve the pressed flowers and protect them from the elements? I have a workable fixative spray from my art school supplies, but I'm thinking that's not the best. Aren't there ways to fix wood for being outside? Would that work over the whole piece do you think? I really have no idea....

Resolved Question: Running Electric to Shed - advice please?
I live in a townhouse and want to run electric from home to shed, which is only 10 feet away from rear of home (breaker cabinet is located on wall closest to shed). Entire run should only be 20 feet. 5 from Fuse cabinet, 10 from home to shed, 5 inside of shed. In shed, I want light switch to control 2 lights as well as permanently powered outlet.I'm not an electrician but I have rewired most of the inside of my home. My questions are regarding outdoor wiring and proper technique. I would like to run cable over ground on the outside along a concrete barrier wall, inside conduit. Is that acceptable? Should I pour a little concrete over that conduit to "seal" it from the elements? The shed is a lifetime plastic shed. What is best option for cutting the hole for that shed and sealing it to make sure there is no leakage inside? I'm chilly with the wiring portion, just not sure about the logistics of running the electric outside and cutting thru the shed. I appreciate any insight you can provide. P.S. I have no grass, city home with every concrete and don't want to bust up the concrete. Thanks. Thanks Richard. I personally believe the conduit should be enough. It's going to be run on the ground, where the concrete meets the wall, behind the CAC unit and no foot traffic or disturbances are going to happen. Maybe rodents but nothing else. I was planning on using 12 guage, run to the outlet, then switch, then lights. I only want the outlet to power the trickle charger to my motorcycle, which will be stored in the shed. GFCI - check. Is a GFCI receptacle sufficient for the shorting capability? I'm not sure I've seen a GFCI breaker? Eddie: Not sure where you got I would be hanging wires. Everything will be run along the ground, tucked up against a barrier wall. My concern was whether conduit was enough protection or should I put a layer of concrete around that. nice of like a welding fillet. Thanks for the insightful responses. I am planning to use a LB at the home and 90 at the shed. I looked at conduit last night at Home Depot, seems like it'll be easier enough. One more question, please: Circuit is 20A, running one outdoor halogen light via a switch inside as well as an outdoor receptacle. GFCI of course. Right now, that GFCI has an extension cord running into the shed to trickle charge my motorcycle. Reason I'm running this power is to eliminate the extension cord, but I'm going to tap off that same circuit to run new line via a junction box in basement, before current GFCI, not after. If source goes to junction box, then one feed goes to outdoor light and GFCI receptacle, then the second feed goes out to the shed, I should need a seperate GFCI receptacle for the shed as well. Correct? I'm pretty sure the GFCI only shuts the power "downstream", but just want to be absolutely sure. Thanks.

Resolved Question: Could anyone help translating from English to Italian?
I'm putting together a powerpoint on architecture in Italy, Tuscany specifically. I only have four slides with pictures and brief explanations of why they are relevant. I'd like to go a step further and really wow my audience by at least having the explanations written in Italian. I have taken an intro. class in Italian but could use some help to ensure my accuracy. -Houses built in the Tuscan style include elements of both old and new. They include tile roofs, arches, columns, and terraces. Perhaps the most telltale features of a Tuscan home are its plaster walls and russet-colored roof tiles. -Inside Tuscan homes you will find warm and vibrant colors. Walls are plastered and somethings hand-painted. Ceilings are often textured. They have wooden beams or paneling. Floors are sometimes decorated with mosaic art. -Gardens associated with Tuscan-style homes are meant to be an extension of the interior living space. A loggia is a series of arches supports by columns to create an outdoor walkway. A pergola is capped by open latticework to support grapevines. -There has been controversy about the real identity of the architect of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It was designed to be perfectly vertical, it started to lean during construction. However, even without this famous characteristic, this building would still be one of the most remarkable architectural structures from Europe. Don't online translate systems translate inaccurately?

Resolved Question: Where Can I find a good Mechanic within Milwaukee, WI?
My car is a Chevrolet Cavalier 96. My car will make a clicking noise as I am about to start the engine but the car will not start. Until recently, my car was kept in a indoor heated garage and was not use to being parked in the outdoor element. Now my car does not have a garage and is parked outside. I had "triple A" arrive and do a battery diagnosis on the car and the battery is fine ( battery is not even a year old yet). The triple A representative tried to give my engine a jump but was unsuccessful. I have a full tank of gas and I have had an oil change. The triple A representative stated, the issue may be the fuel pump. The fuel may not be reaching the fuel pump. Any good suggestions on a credible mechanic whom is not expensive but does good work?

Resolved Question: What's a good outdoor fan to keep my dog cool?
My dog spends some time inside below the ceiling fans and the room with the air-con, but when he goes outside for whatever reason - he gets lethargic really quick and starts panting rapidly and I feel bad for him. We use two water bowls with ice in them, a kiddies pool in the shade and one of those cooling bandanas. I'm looking for a good outdoor fan though, one that can be used safely around my dog and in the elements. Anyone use one or have seen one around? P.S - we live in Western Sydney, so it gets REAL hot here!

Resolved Question: I have a OUTDOOR fireplace. We got is a year ago, used it for about 4 months and stopped for the summer. l?
We purchased a brand new OUTDOOR fireplace about a year ago. When we got it we used it, it lit fine, about 3 months then the weather got warm and stopped using it til it got again icy. Now it's icy again, we went to try to ignite it, and it wont light. We know the gas is defiantly coming out of the tank...but somehow, it's not getting through the lines to receive it to ignite? We did leave it outside in the elements the whole time because we thought since it was made for outdoors, it would be fine. Any advice?

Resolved Question: Why is using epoxy in an application that is exposed to the sun bad idea and I should use polyester resin?
It seems as if using epoxy resin in fiberglass is not recommended if the item is exposed to the sun and that I should use a polyester resin instead. What are the reasons behind this? Will the epoxy resin made fiberglass disintegrate or something like that i.e. loose every of its bonding strength ? How long would an item last if made from epoxy if it was constantly exposed to the sun & outdoor elements ? What are the reasons for using polyester resin over epoxy resin in fiberglass ? What are the reasons for not using epoxy resin in fiberglass items exposed to constant sun & weather elements ? Were is another place to post this for more or better results?

Voting Question: Is this everything I need for a Corn Snake?
I'm sure there a few tweaks that need to be made for this list, but I was wondering if it's good for what I need to have to take care of a Corn Snake? This care sheet is for my parents because I'm trying to persuade them to let me buy one, - Heating: Corn Snakes do not require an overhead lamp, they are more terrestrial creatures so I will provide it with an UTH (below tank heater). That will be kept around 80-85 degrees. - Substrate: Two substrates that I will most definitely use will be newspaper and Aspen shavings. Aspen shavings are very cheap and can be bought in bulk, they make great places for a corn snake to burrow and you can spot their scat easily as its dried up in the shavings, which can easily be scooped out. Aspen shavings contain no chemicals and are easily replaced. - Cage: Corn Snakes do not a big vivarium as long as you keep them active (handling, etc). Adult corn snakes can be kept in a 20 gallon viv but it’s not acceptable, when the snake reaches 4-5 feet its best to receive a 30 gallon tank. - Thermometer: A snake tank should have two thermometers, but a better choice is to buy a digital one with a probe. It has an indoor and outdoor reading and has a built in hygrometer. To accurate take temperatures of the basking area, place the thermometer 2” over the area and place the probe on the bedding. - Water Bowl: A sizeable bowl that’s not too big or tiny for the snake, as long as it can receive in a soak some of its body that’s what matters. Bottled and filtered water are both great for refilling their bowls, tap water contains chemicals that are harmful to snakes. - Thermostat: This device is expensive but is necessary for the well-being of your snake and safety. The UTH will be plugged into the thermostat and this will regulate the temperatures, therefor not overheating the tank and causing a possible flame or a charred reptile. - Hides: Snakes require at least two hides, one on the warm side and another on the chilly. Corn snakes like burrowing and hiding both in the chilly and warm. Snake hides should be big enough so the snake can coil in them nicely, they should be upgraded as the snake gets larger. Household items such as terra-cotta pots and non-look through cups work. More decorative ones can be bought at pet stores. - Branch: Although Corn snakes are more terrestrial, they will certainly like exercise in the tree, this will also provide a place for the snake to help rub off its shedding skin. - Plants: Although not necessary, fake plants make a tank look more decorated and provide another hiding area for a snake to explore. - Cage clips: A cage needs to have tight security because snakes are escape artists, cage clips are placed on the side of the cage so that the cover will not open, books and other heavy objects can be placed on top to secure the cover as well. - Sanitary Elements: Rubber gloves during a thorough cage clean are necessary, during a scrub vinegar can be used to wipe the insides of the cage, but a non-scented soap will also work. Most of these supplies will amount up to $100 dollars. In the long run, more substrate, food, and heating devices will need to be re-bought over time. A new cage and hides will also be needed but not as often, water bowl too.

Resolved Question: Sealing an Oil Painting for the Outdoors (wood panel)?
I have been working on an oil painting for the lower panel of an outdoor-facing screen door (not on canvas, but rather a prepped square of wood). I've allowed it to dry throughly between each application to avoid smearing, etc.. Once it's finished, I need to find a seal that will help it keep its integrity through rain, summer sun and other outdoor elements. I live in Maryland so we receive freezing temperatures in the winter and 90 degree plus days (with lots of sun) in the summer. It would also probably need to be wiped down once in a while for cleaning purposes. Is there a product or sealing method that that could protect it? I've found some that might work (Lascaux UV Protect, for example, seems to meet the criteria but so does Damar Final Varnish). At any rate, I know nothing about this stuff! We wanted something special for the side door so I just picked up some oils, a paintbrush, a piece of wood one day and started painting. No one is more surprised than I am that it's turned out so well - so now I need to make sure it can last. Help! :) KC

Resolved Question: How to take care of duck eggs, and the little duckling that hatched?
In spring we bought ducklings from a feed store. They are forever pets, we will never eat any of our babies so we care about them deeply! They were supposed to be every girls, but one is a boy. We kept checking eggs and they were clear for the longest time. They are in an extra big outdoor dog run with a wooden home and a kiddie pool for water. But they have no heat lamp yet (waiting till it gets winter icy), and are definitely not in the best hatching environment. I was caught by surprise, two days ago a little duckling was running around the pen being chased by my cat. I brought him in and he is doing fine in the closet with a heat lamp (same setup his parents had). He is eating and drinking just fine and running around. There were three ducklings that did not make it, you could look little beaks poking through the shell, it was so unhappy. I don't know how he made it because it was 30 degrees outside. I guess my questions are... If I bring the duck eggs into the closet with the heat lamp in a makeshift nest, will they have a better chance of living? I don't want to leave them out in the elements to die if I can prevent it. Also, since they are every at different ages, will I be able to home them every together if more do live? I candled the eggs and one looks completely full. (I would guess he will pop out any time if hes alive). 3 eggs look to be at the "7 day" mark from the charts I saw, and two eggs look to be in the beginning stages. I have them every in the closet right now. Thanks for your help ahead of time! Not that the first answer wasnt good information, but it was every copy and pasted from another yahoo answer. And if you read, you could tell it was not a "duck that I took in from the wild." Also never answered my question about putting different aged ducks in the bin together. But thanks, still good info.

Resolved Question: A girl jacket question? Girls only?
A girl jacket question? Girls only? I am a fashionable guy and I wear girls clothes more than guys clothes. I feel more comfortable in girls clothes too, but I still wear guys clothes too. I have a more feminine style. Anyways is it ok for me to wear girls outdoor/winter jackets? I really want to. I am a feminine guy but I am not gay. Any harsh answers or if I receive insulted, I will report you. Girls winter jackets or coats are more fashionable too. There were some nice girl winter jackets at Urban Behavior that I really wanted to buy but because I was with my mom she said no. She really doesn't let me be myself. The two jackets I wanted I can't find. Urban behavior doesn't have an online shopping website. Resolved Question: My 5 month old kitten just ran away.?
I could just shoot myself. As soon as I opened up the front door to go feed my outdoor cats she zoomed off. At first she was just lurking around our steer way going underneath my mom's car and what not. I went out there with canned food and her favorite toy to lure her close enough for me to snatch her right up but she wouldn't arrive close me. And now she is no where to be found. I just got her a little over a week ago, and until that time she was an outdoor/indoor cat so I'm hoping she's at least somewhat familiar with the outdoor elements. I probably should mention that she hasnt been spayed yet, just vaccinated. What are my chances of being reunited with my dear Cookie? Does anyone have any tips on how I could go about finding her? Any input will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Resolved Question: Weird recoil pad question?
I've been doing a little bit of research of what recoil pad to receive (well, i know what to receive i'm just looking at different makes) I've looked up most of the makes that my local outdoor store have but there is one make i know they have but i don't know what its called, now here is the question, i wondered if you guys might receive it from a vague description, its logo is like this http://euclidchemical.whitespace-creative.com/ecc/elements/big/Euclid_Diamond_Logo.jpg but flatter and yellow and obviously doesn't say EUCO in it, it has some longer name, the pad is in a purple/blue blister pack and the pad its self is brown with vented sides, maybe someone out there will possibly receive it. Sorry this is a very difficult (and odd) question, i would phone the store if i had a number and they don't have a website. Good luck!

Resolved Question: Should every part of an outdoor antenna be electrically connected?
First, a bit of background. I'm not familiar with outdoors antennas and how to use them, but it seemed necessary for over-the-air digital television, since the little combination rabbit-ear and loop indoors antenna I was using more or less successfully for over-the-air analog broadcasts appeared unable to successfully receive digital ABC or CBS broadcasts. I already had the digital to analog converter box, which seems to work quite well (except for not getting ABC or CBS as said), and just got an outdoors antenna from Amazon. I've constructed those parts of it that needed to be constructed for completion (a few nuts and bolts), and need only the mast, which I'll obtain from a hardware store in a day or so (the mast is nothing more than a steel pipe and some mounting hardware). The outdoors antenna actually will be indoors, mounted to a big worktable. Be that as it may. After constructing the outdoors antenna, I noticed that only ten "elements" of this antenna, which is supposed to be a "twenty-element" outdoors antenna, were electrically connected to the two pairs of ribbon cabling that guide to a transformer, to which would be connected the coaxial cable that leads to the television. The ten electrically connected "elements", which are connected with a thick wire that I think is scored bare aluminum and which wanders from side to side, are the largest "elements" by far, except for the little baby "elements" nine and ten. They are every in a flat horizontal plane. The two silly "wings" which hold what seems to be six more (shorter) VHS "elements" and which angle off from the main antenna rod, are not electrically connected in any way to the coaxial cable (through the transformer). Nor are the nine odd little "butterfly arms" connected to the main antenna rod through an extender which I bolted onto the main antenna rod, and which seem to be for UHF, electrically connected. Yeah, that seems to add up to 25 "elements", of which only ten are useful. The other 15 "elements" seem effectively to do absolutely nothing. Will it hurt to simply run a thick bare copper wire or two from the main antenna rod, which appears to be electrically isolated and which has every the useless "elements", to the same bolt(s) which hold(s) the thick scored aluminum wire to which is connected the transformer that actually supplies the signal through the coaxial cable to the television? I really don't understand why the (Chinese, if that helps) manufacturer did it this way (for Philips, if that is useful). Is this arrangement supposed to make sense, or is this a sloppy practice meant to look good even while only a little of the antenna is actually producing a useful signal?

Resolved Question: How To Fix Fog/Smoke Machine Pump?
Hi i've had a cheap (£30 from Argos) Smoke Machine for quite a few years now and I haven't used it for about 2 years since I ran out of Fog Fluid. I'm starting a new career as a DJ and i've got a upcoming event soon. I ordered 5lrs of fog fluid yesterday for £12 and Cleaning Fluid for £4. But before hand i thought I would run it through with DISTILLED water as the tutorials say on the internet to give it a clean out and flush through any old moldy liquid (build up over time) However, it would NOT pump through. It would heat up, so i know for a fact the heating elements work. When i press the button i hear a tiny humming noise. I'm guessing the pump has broke OR is blocked. Does anyone know any videos or tutorials or know a way to clean the pump out. As i'm on a budget at the moment and don't really want to go out and buy a brand new one just for this outdoor event... I don't know when i will be booked next so i don't really want to spend £30-50 pounds on a brand new one if i can fix mine. I opened up the machine and gave it a clean up and fixed one of the pump tubes that were leaking, that was my first thought of why it broke. But with new tubes and a attempted clean through nothing seems to work... And i can't find anything tiny enough to clean out the nozzle with AND its i can't clean out the actual container (that holds the liquid) or the tube that takes from that as the pump is firmly attached to the fog juice container with no way of dismantling. Sorry for the big description, but its better to be detailed than below detailed! I can't remember the make and model but its one of them Disco budget smoke machines Argos used to sell, i don't think they even sell them anymore.... PLEASE POST VIDEOS/WEB PAGES ON HOW TO FIX AND CLEAN THE PUMP! THANK YOU!

Resolved Question: Why do some people insist on letting their cats outside?
Outside risks to unsupervised cats Traffic: Some people mistakenly think cats are naturally "road smart." Vehicles are a serious threat to every cats allowed outside - and each day many are killed on roads across Ontario. Disease: Feline Leukemia, Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), and rabies are just three of the deadly illnesses your cat can arrive into contact with from wild and domestic animals. In addition, outdoor cats are vulnerable to parasites such as fleas. Abuse: Sadly, there are people in our society who abuse animals, including cats. Letting your cats outside makes them vulnerable to cruelty. The elements: Domestic cats are not well suited to surviving extreme weather conditions. Extreme heat in the summer, and bitterly icy winters both pose health risks to your cat. Other animals: Confrontations with other animals, including other roaming pets, feral cats, and wildlife, can cause your cat injury, or even result in death. Becoming lost: Cats may not always be able to find their way home, or they may be mistaken for stray cats and end up at a pound or animal shelter. Lost cats often fall victim to the risks listed over, while "stray" cats risk being euthanized by animal shelters struggling with limited resources to care for the continuous flood of animals arriving at their doors. Far too often a cat simply doesn't return home one day, and the owner never finds out what really happened. The impact of roaming cats on communities Allowing your cat to roam not only endangers the life of your cat, but directly impacts other animals and residents within your community. Pet overpopulation: Roaming cats that are not spayed or neutered contribute significantly to the ongoing pet overpopulation crisis. Sadly, thousands of cats are euthanized each year because there are not enough adoptive homes. Effects on wildlife: Roaming cats are common culprits in the deaths of wild animals, especially birds and tiny mammals. Placing a bell on your cat's collar is well intentioned, however, it fails to protect most tiny animals. The effect of outdoor cats on a local wildlife population can be devastating and cause unnecessary suffering to thousands of wild animals. Conflicts with neighbors: Cats who wander may defecate in gardens and other undesirable places, kill birds at a neighbour's bird-feeder, or bother indoor cats visible through windows. These and other situations may damage your relationship with neighbors and guide to unnecessary conflicts for both you and your cat. Municipal by-laws: If your municipality has a by-law prohibiting cats from roaming off their property, you could face repercussions if your free-roaming cat is reported to authorities. Teaching your outdoor cat to like the great indoors While the best way to tutor cats to like living indoors is to lift them inside as kittens, your outdoor cat can still become a glad homebody with a little patience and effort. Provide lots of attention: One of the reasons cats may like being outside is because there is lots to do. Help your cat adjust to an indoor lifestyle by giving him plenty of quality time - this includes playing with your cat and giving him lots of affection. Make the indoors a fun place to be: Help your cat learn to associate being indoors with the variety of activities they take pleasure in. Feed your cat indoors, brush her (if she enjoys it), and make sure her litter box is kept clean so your cat has fewer problems adjusting to it. Bring the outdoors... indoors: Help your cat like the entertainment of the outside world from the safety of inside. Provide perching areas on window ledges, a variety of comfortable resting areas to bask in the sun, and open screen windows in warm weather to let the smells and breezes blow through. If you take your cat outside, supervise him at every times. Create a fully enclosed outdoor play area, or even harness train your cat so that the two of you can like walks together! Teaching outdoor cats to become indoor cats does require some patience, and some cats adjust more quickly than others. The most important thing to remember is that despite any initial protests from your cat, your perseverance will ultimately result in a longer, happier life for your favorite feline! Open Question: Why did this boy give me his phone number and suggested he wanted to date me,but later changed?
Almost a month ago,I met a guy as I was taking a walk in an outdoor sport complex. He looked at me and smiled.Since then, I saw him almost every night and we kept coming across each other staring! I found him quite attractive. He was tall and handsome and seemed to have a gentlemanly conduct. Then I realised that I had feelings for him and he became the main reason why I went to that very complex almost every single night.two weeks went by before one night out of a blue,he approached me and exchanged afew greetings, introduced himself and gave me his phone number. You can imagine how over cloud nine I felt.Yet I decided to take things slow and act composed.Later he told me he was a fitness coach there and I also learnt he was (33) five years older than I and he seemed really interested in me. Yet since he worked there with many passer-bys being his acquaintances, we never took a walk together!(this is probabely a bit cultural because I am an Iranian).I told him I didn't want him to be out of his element hence didn't ask him to join me for a walk. Still every time I went there,we would look eachother and talk for a minute or so.He did mention on the phone a couple of times that he wants to look me elsewhere and I said it's a good idea and he told he would fix a date during the weekend. That weekend he didn't call and I called him the following day just to ask how he has been, but he didn't pick up!A couple of days later again I ran into him in the walking road in the complex and tried to act very composed. So I smiled and just content myself by jokingly saying:has anyone stolen your cell?he loughed and didn't take it seriously ofcourse!I didn't mind either and thought well the relationship will eventually evolve.two nights ago I saw him again and asked him about some fatburning pills.(just an excuse to talk to him) and said a pal of mine is planning to lose weight. He said I could call him to receive more info on those pills.I did call him the following day and he didn't pick up!!during the last two weeks I've seen him five or six times and he still gives me nice compliments every time we look eachother, but has not mentioned the date again!I can't really make heads or tails of his actions.I do adore him but don't want to sound desperate or clinging!what can I do?

Resolved Question: I think my coach thinks I am gay.?
My coach really singles me out at team sport and after practice and comments on my development and puberty. I raised a question a while back but now I think that after rading some of the answers the coach may think I am gay, and I am not. I confide in him a lot and mom has a few men friends that I can ask about stuff like that but I think the coach is a chilly guy that wants to help me progress and develop. he has said I can go camping with him and use his spare mountain bike, as I dont have a bike of my possess Mom has said it will be good and she can not worry about me being home alone when she visits my unwell relative. Mom's males friends are every married and they take me swimming a lot and play sport with me during summer break so I dont think I am different apart from the fact I have developed into puberty earlier than some class mates. I guess dad was well blessed but I dont know, but one of moms best friends husbands says I am like him and I know him and the coach train togetherr at the gym and if we go mountain bike riding he will arrive along to watch over things. I feel safe with these guys and want to train with them, and the camping trip will be chilly but I need to receive the teasing about my body hair sorted before I can go. I dont think there is any motive and I know the coach will look after me and moms friends husband has also promised to take good care of me and the tent wil be ok as we will every be together at any time . Shall I accept the offer to go camping with them to the camp site and receive some real outdoor experience and let the guys have their male bonding week of showing me how to tackle the outdoor elements while getting fit and learn to fish and have nore training before the pal of mom has to move because of his job.

Resolved Question: What Are the Causes of Cracking Fire Bricks?
Fire bricks are special heat-resistant bricks used in outdoor ovens, kilns, fireplaces and other high-temperature devices. They keep heat inside the firebox, reducing waste and preventing a flame or a heating element from damaging the wall on the other side. These bricks withstand cracking more effectively than ordinary brick but can crack or chip over the course of their lives

Resolved Question: Interested in upgrading from Canon Rebel EOS Rebel XS to a better DSLR?
Hello there everyone. I am seventeen years old and have a adore for both weather and photography; thus the two being put together, has me completely addicted to being outside capturing skyscapes, landscapes, and severe weather here in central Illinois. As a more serious hobby, I capture every my photography with a beginner's Canon EOS Rebel XS with the stock kit Canon EFS 18-55mm. I am needing to invest or keep back for something better. The XS is a wonderful camera, it's my baby and always will be. I first learned how to use it in January of 2010, taught myself every element of the camera (I only shoot full manual and RAW/.CR2 if that says anything, other than Aperture Priority to control the f/cease.) As much as I adore and patiently use the Rebel XS, I am beginning to seek the limitations it has, such as noise levels, printing/resolution sizes, and image quality. Don't receive me wrong, the image quality you can tug off with this DSLR is quite amazing for a beginner's, but I NEED something better. My guess is going for another digital Rebel - something with a faster image processor, produces cleaner images, worth using a 17-85mm f/4.0 or 10-22mm wide angle lens on, quicker long exposure delay speed (with L/E noise reduction on), and in general, something worth keeping for a few to several years. Any photographers, photo enthusiasts, photo quality geeks, outdoor photographers, etc. I could really use some info on what I should look into as an upgrade, because I can't pick. every I ask is please, no Nikons and something somewhat affordable lol. Thanks for your time and thoughts! For anyone interested in seeing the style of photography I am into, this might help. http://www.flickr.com/photos/eastcentralillinoiswxphotography93/

Resolved Question: Brainstorming ideas on how to combat the icy cold for my outdoor birds?
Hey. I would list every the details but no one likes long posts. I moved out to a much colder climate with my Pale-headed Rosella parrots. Despite my best efforts to make their outdoor aviary sheltered enough from the elements, winter will be too icy for them without some other form of heat. I was thinking of installing an outdoor heater or perhaps some heat-lamps or ceramic heat emitters. I'm not sure what to do. I completely cover their aviary at night, so perhaps that would retain the heat from the lamps/heaters. I would adore some help! PLEASE make a suggestion ><

Labor and capital markets, market efficiency, regulation, and social welfare implications. The problem is that i didn't take any accounting classes before. I only know very basic accounting. I have just read wikipedia's accounting articles and i downloaded some financial accounting notes. I am not a social person So in Vodafone: which one of these departments should i select? consumer & marketing customer care enterprise external affairs finance human resources legal sales (Back office) sales (stores) sales (outdoor) strategy technology (communications) technology (IT) Vodafone international services (offshoring services) and in HSBC which of one these departments should i select? Resolved Question: What would be good to put on the floor for an outdoor patio in michigan built on a slab?
What would be good to put on the floor for an outdoor patio in michigan? I just bought a home and it has an outside covered patio that i really like but they put tile down on the floor and there are a few spots where the tile is either popping up or is cracked. I was wondering what could i put down after i tear up the tile that would still look really good but can handle the elements? Most important i would think would be the extreme weather changes it would have to put up with. We do receive up to 100F and down to -20F throughout the year. Those are not the most common temp but usually the most extreme temps we receive. Usually in the summer we average i would say around 84F but we also receive some pretty humid days as well. I don't think those peel and stick tiles would hold up too good. Does anyone have any suggestions? I want something that will look good and last longer than what i am expecting this tile to. This is on a cement slab.

Resolved Question: Photoshop Elements 10 or CS5?
I'm 13 and I have a Sony a580 DSLR. I like taking photos, but I'm not like every out professional photographer. It's just a hobby. I need a editing software, preferably the CS5 or Elements 10. The elements is a lot cheaper, but can you put it through filters? I really like black and white photos, like the sharp, dramatic, gritty, tough nice. Does the elements have retouching? My skin isn't perfect, just a little oily. And my hair has flyways. If I'm taking a picture for like a profile picture or something, does elements have a retouching part? Just for shine be-gone and blemish fix and stuff. I do retouch my portriats sometime. Below is every the pictures I'm going to take soon- Over spring break I'm going to Hawaii with my whole extended family and apparently I'm in charge of taking pictures. It's gonna be like group pictures and lots of beautiful scenery and landscape. Going on a amateur outdoor photo shoot with my pal. Just for fun and figure out how to use every the features on the camera haha. Going to edit some of the pictures for Facebook profile pictures. Jumping motion pictures. I'm a figure skater and I want to take a CLEAR photo of me in air-unlike the rush ones on my iPhone... Pictures of flowers because my mom gets new flowers every week (sudden blossom obsession.....) And yeah. That's in the next 2 months there's also this thing called levitation photos and every it is is having 2 photos and make it a background then erase it. Can elements do that? There's A YouTube video on it.. So which one should I receive?

Resolved Question: Can you please check my description of some sources of light?
(1) NAME OF SOURCE: Outdoor wall lighting. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: big outdoor wall light with one big halogen bulb; yellowish-white when not viewed through grating; very bright (much brighter than fluorescent lamp described over); very warm to the touch. In comparison, the fluorescent tubes described over are rather chilly. TYPE OF SPECTRUM: Continuous spectrum. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: 1.Predominance of red and yellow light in the spectrum. Fairly little purple light. 2. Blue and purple light become more accentuated in spectrum when one moves the grating further away from the light source. PHYSICAL PROCESS: An electric current is sent through the tungsten filament to generate heat (hence the warmth of the bulb). In turn, the heat from the hot solid body (tungsten filament) emits light in a typical blackbody radiation. The distribution of colors within the spectra and wavelength of maximum intensity simply depend on the temperature of the object. The temperature of a typical tungsten halogen bulb is 3250°K. According to Wien's law, this bulb would generate light more intensely at 923 nm, which is in the infrared spectrum. This explains the warmth of the bulb. In the visible spectrum, the bulb radiates more energy between 600-700 nm. Little UV and visible purple light is gift because the fused silica quartz envelope of the tungsten halogen bulb absorbs very little of the very short-wavelength light. (2) NAME OF SOURCE: Sun PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: G2 star at about a distance of 1 AU from observation point (Earth). Is extremely bright and looks yellow-white in the sky. TYPE OF SPECTRUM: Sunlight is supposed to have an absorption spectrum, but I did not find absorption lines on the gratings. I saw only a seemingly continuous spectrum. The gratings could not have been strong enough to resolve the spectral lines. This issue in elaborated upon in the 'Discussion of Results' section. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: 1. At a certain angle, the light forms a thin, straight, clear, extremely bright, and continuous spectrum on the grating. That line shows a clear progression of colors as well as a mixing of colors at their meeting points: red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple, bright purple-pink, red, ect. No color (wavelength) had a striking dominance over the others. PHYSICAL PROCESS: Even if it was not seen during this observational exercise, the spectrum of sunlight is an absorption one. Here is how it is produced: The visible light produced in the incandescent gas in the deep dense layers of the Sun has a continuous spectrum. However, when that light passes through the less-dense chromosphere, chromospheric atoms absorb photons of appropriate wavelengths. This produces dark absorption lines (called Fraunhofer lines) of elements such as hydrogen and helium in the spectrum. Other photons are absorbed and other absorption lines are produced when the sunlight passes through Earth's atmosphere to reach my observation point (on Earth's surface). (3) NAME OF SOURCE: Fluorescent lamp PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Two medium-size fluorescent tubes in a lamp designed for camping trips. Fairly bright, but not as bright as an incandescent bulb. TYPE OF SPECTRUM: Continuous spectrum on which there are emission lines. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: 1. The continuous spectrum was dominated by green light. There was comparatively little red. Yellow light was not gift in the continuous spectrum and the little amount of blue and purple light were mixed together. 2. Three characteristic emission lines of mercury were seen. The first one is the violet line at 435 nm, the second one is the green one at 546 nm. Mercury is supposed to have a pair of yellow emission lines at 576 and 579 nm. The diffraction grating used is quite tiny and of fairly needy quality, which might have resulted in me seeing the two close yellow lines as one. PHYSICAL PROCESS: Fluorescent lamps generate visible light by exciting mercury vapor. The mercury vapor then emits UV light that causes phosphor to produce light through fluorescence. Fluorescence is the emission of excessive radiation (especially as visible light) after bombardment by UV light or electrons. The continuous spectrum is produced by phosphor lining the inside of the tubes, while the bright emission lines are created by the excited mercury. How does the excitation of the mercury produce light of specific wavelengths (435 nm, 576 nm, 579 nm)? The state of excitation of the electrons in the mercury does not last long. An excited electron subsequently returns to the ground state and releases a specific wavelength of light that is equal to the difference between its excited energy level and the ground state.

Resolved Question: Outdoor washer cover?
I just moved into a home that I am renting and there is a washer hook up outside. I live in Southern California so the temperature/weather is usually pretty nice, however it does rain sometimes and I wanted to protect my washer from the elements/bugs. I can not build and enclosure since I am renting the property. There is about a 3-4 foot over hang from the roof that covers it, but it is exposed on the sides and the front. Also, since it is right up against the home I don't know what nice of cover could fit on/around it. every of the covers that I have seen online are for indoor washers for aesthetic appeal and not for protection. Any ideas or suggestions?
