Resolved Question: I need some help with a graduation party?
My brother is going to graduate in below a month. He does not plan on having a grad party because of money. I want to surprise him by setting one up and paying for everything for him. I guess I could just have it at our local park and use an outdoor gazebo with picnic tables. I need ideas for what we can do and how to make food as cheaply as possible.

Resolved Question: what are some good places to have a kind of small outdoor wedding near northeast alabama?
I really want to receive married on the water but do not know of any aquatic gazebos or anything. A garden wedding would also be good. We are planning it either mid September of this year or nest Spring. I would also consider Chattanooga TN or Birmingham AL as choices or places close to those just no further south than Birmingham

Resolved Question: Wireless Outdoor Speakers?
I have a gazebo, which already has an extension cord powering the lights. Now, I'd like to add some decent outdoor speakers to my setup and receive music from inside the home. But, I don't want to run speaker wire from in the home to the outside. Also, I don't wish to have some tiny wattage speakers. These need to push sound rather well, but not so noisy that the neighbors will complain. I don't mind running the speaker wires within the gazebo itself, though. So, I'm considering some sort of wireless transmitter and receiver. The receiver would have to be powered so that it could push decent sound to the speakers. But, I'm finding it unbelievably difficult to find anything. Oh, and I'm not wealthy... I'd like to keep this below $150, if possible. What are my options?

I'm getting married in May or June(2013) and I want the colors to be purple and orange. Then again, I'd like to have a fairy tale theme(he's my prince..haha.). I'm not sure which to go with. Resolved Question: Outdoor wedding next October at my parents house on a budget-around 50 guests-any tips, ideas, advice?
My parents have a beautiful backyard with a pond and waterfall, gazebo, etc, so since I can remember, I've wanted my wedding AND reception to be here. We'll receive married behind the pool just before sunset, and then head up to the backyard for the first dance, reception, and every that. We're having a buffet and I've sold my fiance on the idea of a 'world buffet' (lol, I made up the name-maybe international buffet would be better)-we'll have some Chinese, some Italian, some Mexican, etc. Dessert will be a tiny 3 tier cake, candy buffet (because I saw a gorgeous pic online of every different colored candies in clear vases-every shapes and sizes-like in one vase it'd be every orange M&Ms, another would be every redhots, another would be every yellow gumdrops, and so on), and we'd also have some other desserts to pick from, like a cupcake tree, cookies, or whatever. Dessert will be in the gazebo, every lit up with Christmas lights. Christmas lights will be EVERYWHERE, on trees, the decks, and the tree home. I have aa 4 1/2 year old daughter, and we're expecting a baby in November, plus we both have 2 nephews each, so kids are a BIG part of this wedding. I adore the idea of lighting the treehouse up with Christmas lights, and after dinner, they can play-the sandboxes will be covered, though, lol, because they'll still be in their nice clothes. We'll have an open bar, and I'm going to look into bartenders and how much it'd cost to hire one for a few hours. I know where to put everything, I have a great idea of what I want in my head, and my fiance is on board with it every-he's even helping of his possess free will, lol. Since it's a night wedding, we'll be leaving the following morning for our honeymoon, probablyy to the South Pacific somewhere-Samoa is number one on my list so far-it seems like a cheaper alternative to Tahiti and Fiji, and more private without tourists popping up everywhere we look. Anyway, no wedding planner. It's a tiny wedding, I want it very private, and we'll be doing most of it ourselves, like the decorating and setting up. His MP3 player will be our music, and we'll have a special file on it dedicated to our wedding with the songs we pick. This is the wedding I want. But there are sooooo many choices, so much stuff to pick from. It's a bit overwhellming. I know I have over a year (we're waiting so long so I can lose every the baby weight first, and he has a few pounds he wants to lose, plus saving money), but a year doesn't seem like a very long time without a pro helping. I know I can do this without help from a wedding planner, but if you have any advice, tips, ideas, anything, I would seriously appreciate them. Stuff like, how to pick a good photographer, where to receive some decorations (like the Christmas lights, centerpieces, etc), any websites, any ideas for a nighttime, fall wedding, or really anything, lol. We live in northern New Jersey and want it to be when the leaves are just changing color to the oranges and reds and golds-they'll be the weddiing colors. And lots of flowers-I adore flowers. I guess I'm just very scattered and unorganized, and overwhelmed with how to find exactly what I'm looking for. Whatever help you can give, I will appreciate it sooooooooo much:) And we are on a budget, so nothing too outrageous. Thanks in advance and sorry this is so long.

Resolved Question: is this text correct in English?
Some of the buildings date back to the end of the fifteenth century - beginning of the sixteenth century and they have recently been restored. The property extends for about five hectares, some cultivated with olive grove, and for one hectare with vineyard. The biggest apartment has a very sunny kitchen with Tuscan table and chairs, oven, gas cookers, fridge, dishwasher, toaster and coffee machine for American coffee. The smallest apartment has a double room, a bathroom with shower, washbasin and WC, a drawing room with sofa bed and a kitchenette with big table, chairs, oven, gas cookers, dishwasher, toaster and coffee machine for American coffee. Both the apartments have a washing machine. Outside the farmhouse there are 2 gazebos with their outside tables for outdoor meals (and with their possess big square, one for each apartment) and with 2 barbecue facilities which are always available. The outdoor swimming pool (5x10 metres, not heated) is provided with solarium and deck chairs and the landlords also use it. Please, can you tell me if there are any mistakes?

It's like a gazebo but it's bigger I guess. It starts with a 'p' and I was almost certain it was "paligonda" but that isn't a word. I found a lot of pictures in a design/landscaping magazine. It can be used as a sitting or entertaining area. It is not pagoda or pavilion. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Resolved Question: Outdoor Graduation Party Activities?
Due to recently moving, we no longer have space to have a graduation party for my daughter in May. As of right now, we are thinking of going to a local park. She has a lot of families she babysits for that will be invited, so it will be easy to have the play ground and what not there. There is a gazebo and other space in the surrounding area. What are some activities for the teenagers to do? They range every throughout high school. It does not have to be structured, just something extra for them to do. She is worried about the party appearing to be to "childish". We are on a budget, but any and every ideas would be great! Also, if you have any other location ideas that would be great too. Thanks!

Resolved Question: One-night Field Hire in Scotland?
Hello:) I'm planning a 16th Birthday Party for this girl based in the Scottish Borders, about 40 minutes from Edinburgh. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to perhaps hire a field for one night? aha! maybe that's a ridiculous notion, i'm not sure.. but there must be something like that! I heard about this place that rented fields out for nights at a time, and in the field there was a gazebo with, like, a cocktail bar and stuff! But I can't find anything about it online:( So, anyway, I was just wondering if anyone knew or heard of anything like this. Or perhaps, could offer an alternative? Any help will be greatly appreciated :D Thanks, every!

Resolved Question: Reasonable patio furniture?
My husband and I just closed on our new home! We take posession in a month. The main selling feature for us was the fact that it has the MOST amazing backyard with a lagoon style pool, hot tub, palm/fruit trees, and gazebo. We would adore some nice looking furniture (chaise lounges, a big dining set, comfortable lounge chairs etc). We live in Florida, where we can spend 9-10 months a year outdoors, so it seems like a reasonable place to furnish nicely! Does anybody have any recommendations for beautiful outdoor furniture that won't break the bank? I wish that we could order from Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware, but it just doesn't seem smart to spend $10,000 on furniture that's going to receive rained on when we have young kids who need college funds!! I'm a big online shopper... any tips would be much appreciated :-)

In my family we have 4 cats. They every are outdoor cats but sometimes we take one or two inside during the day when the weather is bad or there just desperate to arrive inside. Our two oldest cats is a boy and a girl and they're siblings. They've been the healthiest cats and we've never had trouble with them. They've never gotten sick when they were young and they always stay outside in the icy/hot weather and we never put boxes, blankets or anything for them to snooze on and they've been fine, (they stay in our gazebo). Then we got another two cats, 2 boys and siblings again. My mum started getting attached to them lately and has been doing everything to make their lives comfortable. Which is what I'm scared of. She's been putting boxes with thick woolen fabric inside and even some of her jumpers in the boxes and she also bought two pet beds. She then covered the whole gazebo with a plastic cover which just started to make everything go bad. I would go inside the gazebo to look the cats and it would reek of pee and it felt like the air was stuffy with fur and insects. UGH... I then started to worry because they were starting to receive sick. Only the youngest male cats were getting sick and sleepy, sneezing, watery eyes and I just had a feeling that it was because of the covers. I felt like there was insects or a lot of bacteria living in them. Me and my sisters took out the plastic covering the gazebo but we couldn't persuade my mum to receive rid of every the covers and boxes. The cats have gotten a bit better but I was just wondering if blankets that are kept outside can harbor bacteria or become a breeding ground for fleas and insects. By the way my mum does wash the blankets twice in a week with detergent but I think she should wash it and change the covers everyday. Don't think detergent does much. And she does clean the gazebo every now and then but it shouldn't even be that dirty in the first place.

Resolved Question: Wedding colours.....?
I am having an outdoor August wedding in the mountains. Our reception is in a big gazebo on a horse ranch. I really like the colours Coral, Brown and Ivory, but I am not sure if they pop enough or compliment the location. Do you have any suggestions?
